In Germany, biogas production is a top priority as a renewable energy source. With plans to phase out nuclear power plants and coal, large-scale concrete silos are being constructed.

To prevent reinforcement damage, the concrete must be protected from the acidic biomass. The functional requirements are strict, with a focus on impermeability, durability, and strength.

This led to the certification of Controll Innerseal after testing according to DIN 11622-2, conducted by TÜV Rheinland.

More than 500,000 m² of concrete silos have been treated with Controll Innerseal and Controll Innerseal Plus.
